About
St. Pious X Degree & P.G College for Women is a catholic minority institution recognized by UGC and is affiliated to Osmania University.
Since its inception in the year 1993, the college has won many laurels and carved a niche as one of the best colleges in the University. The main objective of the college is to foster and empower women through scientific knowledge and information.
The Department of Microbiology has its inception in the year 1994 and upgraded with the introduction of P.G course in the year 2000. The department is acknowledged as one of the best among the affiliated colleges of Osmania University for its excellent teaching, infrastructure and academic performance of the students. The Department aims at excellence in the field of Microbiology and prepares professionally competent young women with more vibrant entrepreneurial culture and enhanced scientific aptitude.
The Department of Microbiology has been organizing symposia/conferences at national and state level with eminent scientists and academicians as resource persons to make the student and teaching communities aware of the latest cutting-edge ideas, progress in biology and research. In this continuing effort, the Department of Microbiology is hosting 2 day International conference in collaboration with IMRF. This conference will be a forum for new ideas and concepts and also would endeavor to examine the different dimensions in Life sciences especially Microbiology, Agriculture and Environmental sciences. This conference will provide a platform to academicians, researchers, professionals, and students to interact with the experts and thereby open up new avenues for collaboration at regional and national levels.
